In scene 2, act 1 Capulet was attempting to arranged a marriage between Juliet (only a teenager) and Paris. Capulet attempts to convince Paris to date his daughter, and how they would be a good couple. I think he wants them to get married because he is scared Juliet could end up with the wrong guy and he thinks Capulet is a good match for her. He just wants his daughter to be safe and well kept. He doesn't want his daughter to get hurt.
Scene 1:Romeo is introduced into the play and Montague and Benvoleo explain that Romeo is depressed and extremely sad because he loves a girl named Roslyn. Though Roslyn doesn't love him back. It shows Romeo can be very dramatic and that he exaggerates things to obtain attention. I think he is dramatic because he locked himself up in a room and sulked,
instead of dealing with his problems in the real world.
